The Certificate in Software Engineering is available to students with all backgrounds who complete the five core courses of the M.S.S.E. program and write a certificate paper. You may enroll as a provisional graduate student to complete the certificate.

The Certificate in Software Engineering is available to students with all backgrounds who complete the five core courses of the MSSE program and write a certificate paper. You may enroll as a Provisional Graduate student to complete the certificate.

Students pursuing the MSSE may elect to request a certificate at any time after completing the five core courses. The only added requirement is the paper, which is not otherwise required by the MSSE program.

When you have completed or are about to complete the requirements, you may request your certificate using the request certificate page. The certificate will be provided to you at the end of the semester.

English Proficiency Requirements

All applicants whose first language is not English must provide proof of English language proficiency. WVU accepts either the TOEFL or the IELTS for this purpose. Learn more about our English language proficiency requirements.

Mr. Dale Dzielski

Dale Dzielski has been in the software industry for over 20 years and began teaching in the online software engineering program in 2007 where he became the Program Coordinator in 2014. His interests include strategies for virtual enterprise collaboration, enterprise architecture frameworks, and quality software processes. He serves as the Coordinator for Outreach and Extended Learning in the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
