Ours is one of the earliest human resources programs established in the United States and is among a very limited number of human resources/industrial relations full-time day programs in the country. Our graduates are excellently positioned for a wide range of management positions, and our program has an exceptional placement record, enhanced significantly by our extensive alumni network and employer base.
Graduates enjoy successful placement in a diverse group of high-quality employers and economic sectors. Recent graduates have accepted challenging positions with national firms such as Bechtel Corporation, General Electric, Frito-Lay, PepsiCo, PPG Industries, Westinghouse, Eaton, Dow Chemical, Shell, Marathon Petroleum and more.
The public sector also finds great value in the WVU MSIR, with students going to the United Way, WVU Department of Human Resources, Department of the Navy, and the Federal Mediation Conciliation Service.
The consulting arena has sought graduates with recent placements at Accenture, Mercer Consulting, Helios HR, Towers Watson and Korn-Ferry International.
