Integrated Marketing Communications (M) - Online
The Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) master’s program is offered exclusively online, and no classroom attendance is required. This enables students to earn their degrees in this fast-growing field from anywhere in the world.
IMC is a new way to approach marketing - by viewing the whole marketing picture, not just the parts. Students in the program learn to see things they way the consumer sees them - as a constant flow of information from indistinguishable sources.
The IMC Master's program requires 33 hours of coursework, and each course is three credit hours, for a total of 11 courses. The program's academic year consists of five nine-week terms: early fall, late fall, early spring, late spring, and summer. Most students take one to two courses per term, dedicating 12 to 15 hours of study per week to each course. Students generally complete their degrees in about two years.
Curriculum consists of the introductory course, seven core courses, four electives, and the capstone course. For complete course descriptions, see http://imc.wvu.edu/curriculum.
IMC graduates hold positions such as brand managers, marketing directors, public relations directors, business owners and CEOs, to name a few. They have the opportunity to work in a broad range of strategic marketing positions. In a recent survey of graduates, 94% of total respondents rated their overall satisfaction level with the program at an 8 out of 10 or higher, and 100% of respondents stated that they would recommend the IMC program to a friend or colleague. And, cumulatively, 76% of recent graduates indicated an increase of $5,000 or more in their annual salary. The program offers a community job board with hand-picked jobs for IMC students and graduates: http://imc.wvu.edu/community/job_board.
