Register for Classes

Each program handles the class registration process for their graduate students differently. We encourage you to contact your graduate program coordinator as soon as possible to identify what steps you should take to get registered for the upcoming term.

Admitted students will likely have a meeting with an academic advisor and/or advising faculty member to discuss your individual plan of study. You may also wish to review the Graduate Catalog for additional information on your program and to review course offerings.

You can register for classes online via the WVU STAR System. You can access the system via your student portal at Portal.WVU.Edu.

The online STAR system allows students to do the following

• Review charges and make payments

• Change personal information

• Register for classes

• View financial aid eligibility and awards

• View final grades and unofficial transcripts

• View course schedule

• View on-campus housing information

• Allow a parent or guest access to student records

To access STAR you must first activate your WVU student account.
