What is Women's and Gender Studies at WVU like?

Description

The Women’s Studies Graduate Certificate consists of 15 hours of graduate-level work in women’s studies, using those courses that are approved by the women’s studies curriculum committee as primary or component courses for the women’s studies program.

Each graduate program sets their own terms of admission and application deadlines. Applicants can only apply for admission for the terms displayed below. Any questions regarding the application deadline should be directed to the graduate program representative.

Fall: September 1
Mid-Fall: October 15
Spring: February 1
Mid-Spring: March 15
Summer: May 15

Requirements

What are the requirements to apply for Women's and Gender Studies at WVU?

University Requirements

To be eligible for admission into a graduate program at WVU an applicant must submit official, bachelor’s degree transcripts from a regionally accredited institution and hold a GPA of at least 2.75.

WVU operates decentralized admissions. Decentralized admissions allows each graduate program to set its own application requirements in addition to the University requirements.

Program Requirements

To be eligible for admission into the Women's and Gender Studies graduate program an applicant must submit the following documentation:

  • Statement of Purpose
  • Résumé /CV

Additional considerations for applicants:

  • 250 word personal statement that describes the applicant’s interest in the certificate program.

Applications that are incomplete or are submitted after the deadline may be reviewed if openings remain.

International applicants must also submit required materials for international applicants.
