The Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering offers graduate programs aimed at preparing students for both professional and research careers. The department offers M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Software Engineering that prepare students for careers in design and technical leadership.
The common educational objective of all the graduate programs in the Lane Department is to produce graduates who have the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will ensure success in professional positions in business, industry, research, government service or in further graduate or professional study.

Dr. Muhammad A. Choudhry
Muhammad Akram Choudhry was born in Pakistan in April , 1950. He received B.Sc. (EE) from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan. He received M.S. (EE) from the University of Kansas in 1977 and the Ph.D. degree from Purdue University in 1981. From August 1973 to December 1975, he was Assistant Engineer with Water and Power Development Authority in Pakistan. He joined West Virginia in 1981.
