What is Higher Education Curriculum and Teaching at WVU like?


Students earn a Master of Arts degree in Education with a major in Higher Education Curriculum and Teaching. This program provides knowledge and skills in curriculum development, teaching strategies, education psychology and a general background in higher education.

Electives allow students to continue to improve their knowledge of their particular content area of interest at the graduate level. The flexibility of the program lends itself to certified teachers, instructors in higher education, international students, students interested in pursuing a doctoral program and others who are interested in teaching in higher education.

What are the requirements to apply for Higher Education Curriculum and Teaching at WVU?

University Requirements

To be eligible for admission into a graduate program at WVU an applicant must submit official, bachelors degree transcripts from a regionally accredited institution and hold a GPA of at least 2.75.

WVU operates decentralized admissions. Decentralized admissions allows each graduate program to set its own application requirements in addition to the University requirements.

Program Requirements

To be eligible for admission into the Higher Education Curriculum and Teaching graduate program an applicant must submit the following documentation:

  • GRE
  • Letters of Recommendation - Three
  • Résumé /CV
  • Statement of Purpose
